Last night, a sailing boat with eight people on board, seven of whom were minors, capsized off the coasts of Trapani.
The difficult sea and wind conditions provoked the accident but, fortunately, with a happy ending thanks to the Coastguard who rescued all the crew.
There are no further news about why the boat was sailing, despite the weather alerts.
Weather forecasts, in fact, had announced the arrival of “Gaby cyclone” in Southern Italy.
The cyclone, coming from North-Africa, provoked a very strong wind up to 94 km/l in Palermo and over 110 km/h in the Tyrrhenian area. It also brought desert sands, by causing real sand storms.
Today, the cyclone is moving to Balkans with a 992-hPa-pressure.
