Selva Marine’s Evolution family grows. New D 540 EVO launched in Paris.

Parisian stage for the launch of the new entry in Selva Marine’s Evolution range. We’ re talking about the Selva D 540 Evo, a 5.35-metre inflatable boat which joins a family which already counts 11 models from 4.70 to 8 meters.

The audience of the Salon Nautique International de Paris was, first of all, captured by the astonishing price at which the boat was offered: little less than € 27,000.00. A special offer, reserved for the Boat Show’s visitors, which represents an additional discount on an already highly competitive price: the D 540 is, in fact, a fully-equipped boat which costs just little more than € 31,000.00.

Size is excellent. With an inner length of 4.59 meters, the boat combines two essential elements: easy handling and spaciousness. In other words, a good compromise between user-friendliness and comfort.

Comfort is, first of all, guaranteed by a deep V-hull and its strength skids which provide the boat with great stability even in the tightest turns. Trim is constantly maintained and speed is never compromised.

Double-moulded fiberglass keel and neoprene-hypalon tubes with a diameter ranging from 50 to 62 cm are the main materials which compose the D 540 Evo.

The sporty character of the D 540 Evo is the result of a perfect balance between shapes and volumes. 5.35 meters long and 2.43 meters wide, the boat is compact and streamlined at the same time. Moreover, the center console gives it a character worthy of bigger boats. It’s a complete, fully-equipped console, with anti-reflection windscreen, steel handrail, single-lever control and anatomical steering wheel, necessary to control the optional hydraulically-operated helm. A large locker is positioned below the pilot seat while, behind it, a full-beam sofa is located next to the transom. A wide sun pad occupies the whole foretriangle, below which another large locker can accommodate various equipment and accessories.

The standard equipment is completed by a wide range of optionals, including an awning, a folding and telescopic roll-bar, navigation lights and submersible bilge pump. With an overall capacity of 100 liters, the fuel tank is part of the standard equipment and encloses solenoid valves, decanters and level indicators.

The D 540 Evolution is offered in different power options from 60 to 100 horsepower. The ratio between engine characteristics and hull lines was designed by Selva Marine Technical Office.

The Selva Marine’s stand also hosted three other important products, already presented at the Genoa International Boat Show last September. We’re dealing with three innovative outboards: the 6hp Oyster, the 8hp Black Bass and the 9.9hp Piranha. All three models are equipped with built-in battery and ignition key. Advantages are clear. The built-in battery indeed results into minimal encumbrance and greater safety, especially if we consider that the presence of a key prevents other forms of manual ignition. That’s an advantage of general nature that is, however, multiplied in the case of tenders, where external battery would inevitably complicate life within the narrow spaces of a service boat, with many problems even in terms of holding and safety. All three models are patrol-fuelled.
