Selva PROTAGON 25 Center Console: a fast and exciting day-cruiser

With PROTAGON 25, Selva Marine looks at the future, offering a cruising experience that goes further beyond traditional expectations. This boat, in fact, blends boat building craftsmanship with the most advanced technologies available today, thus delivering a new yachting experience.

The new PROTAGON 25 by Selva Marine is a new generation creation from the Greek boatyard BISKINIS BROS. With over 25 thousand units built and a strong presence on the worldwide market, PROTAGON continues to evolve and change the way we think about open and small-sized boats, combining revolutionary design with high-quality construction and adrenaline-pumping performance, as we will see in a moment.

The PROTAGON 25 in detail

The extremely functional layout of the PROTAGON 25 by Selva Marine offers a perfect balance of comfort and practicality, resulting in an open day-cruiser which, with its numerous innovative features, is absolutely one of a kind and designed to provide an uncompromised deck.

The stern sundeck can convert into a dining table while the easily accessible bathing platforms are the ideal spot for water sport enthusiasts to prepare their equipment.

A forward seat on the center console, an electric toilet with black water tank, a sink in the bar cabinet and toilet, and a shower on the deck provide a level of convenience and comfort hard to find on other open models of the same size.

The black perimeter handrail and easy access to the bow make navigation safe and comfortable for all passengers, even at high speeds. Thanks to the entertainment system then, it is possible to fully enjoy the days with friends and family, with a radio and 4 speakers evenly arranged along the deck, while the deck and compartment lights ensure a cozy atmosphere even when returning late in the evening.

The heart of the PROTAGON 25, however, is its high-efficiency, double-stepped hull, which redefines performance standards at sea. Stability, high-performance handling, and fuel economy make this boat a true revolution.

With an overall length of 8 meters, a maximum beam of 2.45 meters, and a weight of about 1,400 kg, PROTAGON 25 offers the perfect combination of manageable size and abundant space.

PROTAGON 25 CC Sea Trial

I climb aboard PROTAGON 25 ready to be amazed by such a sporty and distinctive boat, powered by a Selva 300HP White Whale outboard.

We leave the Lake Garda harbor in Peschiera del Garda, this afternoon the sun is shining and although there is some wind the temperature is excellent.

When I take the controls of PROTAGON 25 Center Console we are already quite far from the lakefront, I start to accelerate slowly, but no matter how hard I try to go slow the responsiveness of this boat, with this powerful outboard engine is impressive.

Within moments I find myself cruising at more than 35 knots, without even realizing it, and I reach a top speed of 46 knots without feeling instability or the hull flapping.

I slow down a bit and settle down to a “comfortable” speed of 30 knots, make a few wide port turns and immediately narrower starboard turns, which are executed flawlessly by PROTAGON 25, as if following an imaginary line on the water.

If I had already had fun with PROTAGON’s 20-foot “little one” and found her to be a very stable and truly amazing boat, here everything is elevated to the square. Only 5 feet difference, an engine of twice the power…PROTAGON 25 amazed me once again: stability, speed, comfort and much more fun!
