We all remember him in his unimpeachable dark suit walking on Hugo Boss’ keel and mast. This time, Alex Thompson has decided to complete his marketing trilogy for his sponsor, Hugo Boss, with another endeavour, the Skywalk.
The sailor, who has experienced a lot of accidents and damages in his long career, chose Alvor, in Portugal, for his skywalk after his Keelwalk in 2012 and the following Mastwalk.
This time, he chose a kite to fly over his Hugo Boss boat, Through a rope fixed on the mast, he flew off when the rope tensed and, thanks to the boat speed, he reached a height twice as high than the mast. Once the rope was detached, the sailor landed on his kite. Always, of course, in his elegant Boss suit.
” Our previous stunts were so successful – Thompson said – we knew we couldn’t stop. We wanted to do something greater and better”
Thompson, who will participate to Vendée Globe on his Hugo Boss Imoca 60 next November 6th, had already done two similar endeavours: a keelwalk and a mastwalk on his Hugo Boss boat.
