Sunseeker had created a lot of expectation around its latest model, a deep update of Sunseeker 131, by publishing pictures and previews during 2015.
So, a lot of curiosity in London during the Nautical Exhibition of last January, where the English shipbuilder launched it: a 40-metre boat with a perfect mixture of technology and luxury.
In Sunseeker 131, luxury is represented by large spaces, for both shipowner and passengers, high quality materials and finishings. The standard version has 5 guest cabins (for 10 people) and a shipowner’s one.
There is a great possibility of customization, as regards configurations, furniture and finishing. Anyway, the yacht can host up to 12 people, who can count on different rooms, including a gym, a cocktail bar, large halls and open-air areas.
Last year, when the boat was still under construction, the group sold 5 samples to customers coming from all around the world. The strengthened qualities of Sunseeker tradition are ensured: V-shaped hull, technological construction process, indisputable quality.
These are the basis of this new project: a big yacht with three decks, able to sail at a maximum speed of 23 knots.
Construction takes a year and the shipbuilder can build five boats at the same time.
But if high-level planning, innovative design and excellent construction are English, successful marketing strategies and investment capital are Chinese.
In 2013, Wanda Group, a big financial group from Beijing, bought the majority of the English company.
The price has not been declared also because it mostly depends on customization. But we are talking about amounts which go beyond 15 billion Euros.
