Cybercat kit turns Tesla Cybertruck into a boat for $23,000.

The Tesla Cybertruck can be transformed into a catamaran for $23,000. This is thanks to Cybercat, a kit that makes it possible to convert the powerful electric pickup into a foil-flying boat.

Developed by TSWLM Electric Vehicles Inc, a Seattle-based company owned by engineer Anthony Diamond, the Cybercat consists of a kit of accessories that allows the Tesla Cybertruck to be placed on two inflatable hulls equipped with 50 kW electric outboard motors, and from there enjoy the ride out into the open sea as the supercar speeds along like real motorboats. According to the company, the kit guarantees a maximum speed of 25 mph and a range of 50 to 115 miles, depending on cruising speed. However, it will not be possible to use the autopilot, which is one of the strengths of the Elon Musk-designed supercar, for recreational purposes.

As the project’s website explains, the Cybercat kit from TSWLM Electric Vehicles Inc is priced between $22,900 and $32,900 depending on the number of engines, which can range from one to five. For an additional $10,000, it is also possible to purchase the advanced ‘Cybercat Foiler’ kit, which allows speeds of up to 40 mph.

The Cybercat will only be available on the market in 2023, when the Tesla Cybertruck will also be available on the market: launched in 2019 by Elon Musk, the electric supercar has suffered production problems that have delayed its distribution. The intention of TSWLM Electric Vehicles Inc is to make the Cybercat a kit suitable for high-speed sea taxi service, as well as obviously for sale to private individuals. Moreover, the kit has great potential to replace traditional ferries with more modern vessels.
