THE SUPERYACHTS WE’LL SEE AT THE YACHTING FESTIVAL OF CANNES

Leggi l’articolo in italiano

After all, it’s not long to the Yachting Festival of Cannes ( September 6th-11th), the event which marks the beginning of the “passionate” autumn of boat shows (after Cannes, it will be the turn of Genoa, Montecarlo, Barcelona, La Rochelle, South Hampton, Friedrichshafen…) and the new season for shipbuilders and producers.

Among the 600 boats, which will be the queens of the event? The longest ones, of course.

Here you are a top five, or better a top seven (since the fifth place is shared by three yachts) of the most interesting motorboats of the event.

The leader is Majesty 155 Gulf Craft, 47 metres long.

Majesty 155 the flagship of Gulf Craft yard, seated in the United Arab Emirates. Launched in spring 2015 after 4 years of concept, design and production works, this displacing yacht has an autonomy of 4000 miles. Mayesty 155 has no steel or aluminium elements; she’s completely made of fiberglass.

Number two and three are Baglietto 46 Fast (46.3 metres) and Sarp 46 (46 metres).

Launched last May, Baglietto 46 Fast is an aluminium surfing yacht with a thin bow, a heavy stern and a compact aggressive superstructure. Design is by Francesco Paszkowsk who, in collaboration with Margherita Casprini, designed interiors, too.

Sarp 46 is the first superyacht launched by Sarp, a Turkish yard seated in Antalya (in the South of the country). This yacht has four decks, a steel hull and a composite superstructure, with a lord tonnage of less than 500 tons. This yacht sails at the quiet cruising speed of 12 knots (the maximum one is almost 15 kn) with an autonomy of 3000 miles.

Behind them, Benetti Crystal 140 (41.93 m ), a reference model among semi-custom boats of Benetti’s Class range. Benetti has already built 6 units of this composite yacht.

The fifth place is shared by three 38-metre-long boats. They are:  Admiral Impero 38 RPH, an aluminium semi-displacing yacht (exterior design is by Luca Dini); fiberglass FX 38, built by FX Yachts, a Turkish yard seated in Antalya, sails between 20 and 24 knots; Benetti Vivace 125, a fast composite and carbon yacht.
