Here you are the top 5 of the biggest sailing boats we’ll see at the Yachting Festival of Cannes, which will start next September 6th. The list includes 4 sloops and a catamaran.
Number one is Perini Dahlak, 38.15 metres long.
Launched in La Spezia last March, Perini Dahlak is an aluminium sloop designed by Philippe Briand and provided with a huge sail area (1870 square metres) and a 51-metre-high carbon mast. The deck is well-arranged thanks to Perini’s captive winches which hide sheets and riggings.
Number two, with a length of 31.78 metres, is Southern Wind 102.
An excellent performance cruiser. The first SW 102 was presented six years ago and, since then, 15 models have already been built. The yard has celebrated its 25 years Capri during the Rolex International Regata, won by a… SW 102. The project is by Farr Yacht Design, while interior and exterior design is by Nauta.
Number three is Mylius 76 (23.40 metres long)
A performance blue water boat available in two versions: flush deck and deck saloon. The first model, launched last April, is a flush deck. Now, a carbon deck saloon is under construction.
Number four is Lagoon Seventy 7 (23.28 m)
It is a catamaran and the new Lagoon flagship with impressive sizes, like a superyacht. The project is by VPLP and interiors by Nauta. The sail area has been moved foreward in order to reduce the mainsail size and have a shorter boom.
Number five is CNB 76 (23.17 m)
The designer is Philippe Briand, again. A semi-custom sloop with a double rudder blade, chine and lifting keel on demand. The boat is built through infusion with carbon elements. She’s provided with a huge cockpit and a rigging zone well-separated from cabins.
