AMERICAN PREMIERE FOR THE NEW FERRETTI 450 AND RIVA DOMINO 88′ SUPER

At its ritual press conference at the Miami Yacht Show, the Italian-Chinese Ferretti Group has reaffirmed its determination to establish itself as one among the most important players in the global yachting market.

And in Miami, it has proven its creative and productive capacity, firmly supported by the seven brands composing its constellation: Ferretti Yachts, Riva, Pershing, Itama, Mochi Craft, CRN and Custom Line. Thus, it has exhibited an entire fleet of 17 models ranging from 14 up to 28 m.

15 of them was already known overseas: the Ferretti Yachts 550, 650, 700 and 850; the Pershing 62, 70, 74, 92; the Riva Iseo, Aquariva, Rivamare, 63’ Virtus, 76’ Perseo, 88’ Florida, and the Custom Line Navetta 28.

But the event is also the occasion for two American debuts: the Ferretti Yachts 450 and the Riva 88’ Domino Super.

The first marks a return to the under 50-foot flybridge market. The Studio Zuccon International Project, designer of both interiors and exteriors, has managed to create a hull with sleeker lines, more comfortable and spacious, without losing its typical sporty spirit. A key role in this direction has been played by the large windows  – three on each side on main and lower decks – and the glazed surfaces covering the whole superstructure profile to the benefit of softer and more harmonious lines in the large flybridge.

The interiors of this 14-metre yacht include a large open space with hardwood floor and a galley on the port side, where the doors of the walnut cabinets featuring lacquered frames create an interesting play of contrasting colours with the horizontal glass-effect surfaces.

Sleeping quarters are on the lower deck. This first model has two guest cabins and a full-beam master suite. Here, too, walnut surfaces are perfectly combined with tissues, lacquered surfaces and carpeting showing different shades of grey.

Furniture, especially the bed frame and head, is decorated with leather inserts. The master suite is completed by a large en-suite with separate shower decorated by a mosaic wall.

A similar interior design distinguishes the VIP suite in the bow, while the guest cabin with bunk beds is starboard.

The yacht is fitted with a pair of Cummins QSB 6.7, either 480 hp or 500 hp, which ensure a cruising speed of 25 and 27 knots respectively. The Ferretti 450 can also be fitted with a joystick steering system.

The other “new entry” for the American market is the  Riva 88’ Domino Super, a 27-metre model of the Coupé line, designed (as usual for the brand of Sarnico)  by Officina Italiana Design, the Mauro Micheli and Sergio Beretta’s creative centre.

Design is mainly focused on sporty lines, as expected for a model like this which provides an hard top-equipped open with a fly bridge. The sporty approach is also evident in colouring: dark grey, called London Grey, for the hull and a clearer one, named Moon Grey, for the superstructure.
The sun deck has a new layout, with an external helm station located in the middle of the plant in order to accommodate seats and a sun pad along the whole bridge perimeter.

The hull profile is really unmistakable thanks to the innovative continuous glazing featuring a stainless steel plate that bears the Riva logo in its central part.

Dynamism and brightness, to let speed take the guests’ breath away and nature soothe their senses with its beauty. This is what I have in mind when I describe the 88′ Domino Super” – stated designed Mauro Micheli.

The shipyard has worked hard to make this yacht as comfortable and steerable as possible. The astern swimming surface has been specifically designed to offer both a beach club and an easy access to the tender garage. Engine room has been reorganised, installing some of the main appliances in the most easily accessible areas.

Interiors are worthy of superyachts and include a full-beam master cabin located amidships, three guest cabins and a crew room. The main deck hosts a large living zone, with a hidden pilot station and the galley located on a mezzanine deck.

Of course, this elegant Domino ensures great performances. The yacht is equipped with two MTU 16V 2000 M93, 2435 Mhp engines, allowing it to reach a cruising speed of 34 knots.
